Cats
Indoors!
The Campaign for
Safer Birds and Cats, aims to protect birds and wildlife, and
help cats lead safer, healthier lives by encouraging cat owners
to keep their cats indoors. The campaign is supported by
thousands of veterinarians and humane societies, including the
Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV), the Alliance of
Veterinarians for the Environment (AVE), the American Humane
Association, and The Humane Society of the United States.

As a
Veterinarian you are
in a unique position to encourage your clients to keep their
cats indoors for the safety and well-being of the cats and the
birds and other wildlife that they threaten.
In conjunction with
American Bird Conservancy,
NJAS
is able to provide a wide variety
of educational materials including the popular brochure
Keeping Cats Indoors Isn't Just for the Birds, which
explains in detail why cats should be kept indoors, and some
simple suggestions on how to keep an indoor cat contented. From
our Resources page you can order
brochures to hand out at your practice, and download free
resources such as a poster to display in your waiting room and
numerous fact sheets. Many of the downloads on this site require
Adobe Acrobat Reader to
view.
