NJAS is recognized as the leading environmental education
organization in New Jersey.

NJAS Department of Education is well connected to the
environmental education community by its role as a founding
member of ANJEE (the Alliance for New Jersey Environmental
Education), and its current membership in the governor-appointed New
Jersey Commission on Environmental Education (NJCEE) and the New
Jersey Natural Resource Education Cooperative (NJNREC). The staff at our
centers provides natural history information, networking
opportunities, and resource materials for educators and the
public.

NJAS PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
NJAS staff will:
Work with teachers to
design professional development based on teacher/school needs.

Audubon On Call - NJAS staff will come
to your school grounds to design and implement
interdisciplinary units that address your curriculum
needs. Experiences could include teacher professional
development as well as lesson modeling using your schoolyard
habitat or natural area.

Design your own PD - just call
the center
closest to you to discuss with our professional staff.
Provide professional
development on district in-service days.

Work with NJAS staff to develop meaningful
professional development that suits your teachers' needs.
Topics could include migration, forest health, habitat and
watershed assessment and geology of New Jersey.
Conduct professional
development services through established PD institutions,
initiatives or programs including but not limited to:
New Jersey Science Convention
Northwestern SSI Regional Center
New Jersey Association for Gifted Children
Brookdale Math / Science / Technology Education Network
Alliance for New Jersey Environmental Education
Teachers for Biodiversity
Earth Science Teacher's Association
Watershed Partnership for New Jersey
