Boat Trips

Birding by Boattm aboard The Osprey at the Miss Chris Marina in Cape May sails out of beautiful Cape Island Creek Preserve, New Jersey's southernmost salt marsh and a critical migration stopover.

The Osprey is a stable, roomy covered pontoon boat with a fully glass enclosed cabin, railed front deck, bench seating, and toilet facilities on board.  There is plenty of free parking available in Miss Chris Marina parking lot.

Enjoy close up looks at a variety of water birds including secretive rails, migrating shorebirds and osprey, herons, egrets, other waterfowl and marsh birds as we explore
the coastal salt marsh from Cape May to Wildwood.

You do not have to be a festival participant but pre-registration is required ($35/person) and limited.  Registrants will be provided with details including meeting location.

Birding from the Ferry

Enjoy a round-trip passage (walk-on only; no vehicles) aboard the Cape May Lewes Ferry.

Cruise across the Delaware Bay on a sea birding adventure from Cape May to Lewes DE in

search of pelagic birds like gannets, loons, jaegers, gulls, terns, and marine life.

Scanning will be from the outside deck; w
ind and weather can make the water a bit rough,

so if you are prone to motion sickness, please take precautions.  Dress warmly and bring

rain gear - just in case.

Don't forget your binoculars and it's okay to bring a spotting scope on a tripod, but be

advised if the waters are rough.

The ferry is fully equipped with indoor seating, snack bar, and toilet facilities.  Feel free

to bring your lunch or pick something from the snack bar (no restaurant on board).

Advance registration is required and cost is in addition to registration fee.  Free parking.

Photo identification is required for all passengers before boarding the ferry.
