Cape May Bird Observatory
Registration Information

Registration includes field trips, workshops, programs, activities, and admission to Cape May Convention Hall.  Registrants choose what they want to do for the days they are registered. Additional activities, dinner, and evening programs are not included.  Lodging, meals and transportation are the responsibility of the participant.

The Grand Hotel (www.grandhotelcapemay.com) at 1045 Beach Avenue in Cape May will be our host hotel.  Contact them directly at 800.257.8550 or 609.884.5611 for rate information and reservations or select from the list of our business members available under the Places listing on www.BirdCapeMay.org.

Pre-registration ended on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 so that participants could be mailed their registration packet containing your admission passes, detailed schedule with meeting times and places, directions and map.  

Anyone wanting to register after Monday, October 22 can register in person at the NJ Audubon desk in the lobby of the Grand Hotel or Cape May Convention Hall from 9 AM to 4 PM on Friday and Saturday.  Registration will also be available on Sunday from 9 AM to Noon at Cape May Convention Hall.

If you must cancel, please call Deb Shaw at 609.861.0700 before October 17.  Cancellations will be refunded, less a $50 processing fee, in the manner they were received.  There will be no refunds for cancellations after Oct 17.  All additional activities are non-refundable unless cancelled by event organizers.  Festival organizers reserve the right to cancel or substitute any activity when necessary.  If an additional activity must be cancelled, a refund will be issued after the festival.  Contact Deb Shaw at 609.861.0700 ext 10 for refunds.

Please note:  

Registration is based on a daily fee, not individual activities. Except for special activities marked “♦,” registrants do not have to select any activities in advance. Wearing your daily admission tag will give you access to all regular activities. Daily registration includes field trips, workshops, programs, activities, and admission to Cape May Convention Hall. Evening programs and boat trips are not included in daily registration. Those events marked “♦” require additional, advance registration and are available separately. Transportation, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of the participant.


After receiving your registration and payment, you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration and contact information should you have questions about your registration. 

All registrations received by October 17, will be mailed a registration packet containing daily admission passes, a detailed schedule of events with descriptions, times, and meeting places, directions and a map.  If you have registered for the Friday or Saturday evening programs, you will provided with a ticket.  If you registered for any other additional activities (i.e., boat trip), your name will be on a list provided to the boat captain.

You may register securely, online with a MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover credit card or, if you have a PayPal® account, directly through PayPal®.

After completing your registration and payment, you will receive a confirming e-mail from PayPal that your payment has been processed.  Shortly after, you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration and contact information should you have questions about your registration. 

Register by Mail (by Wednesday, 10/17)
You may download the registration form, print, complete the information with your payment (credit card, check, or money order) and mail to Deb Shaw, Autumn Festival Registration, CMBO, 600 Route 47 North, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.


Register by Fax (by Tuesday, 10/23)
You may also fax your registration form along with your credit card information to Deb Shaw at 609.861.1651.

Register On-Site
For your convenience, we will have a New Jersey Audubon Information/Registration Desk in the lobby of the Grand Hotel in Cape May and in the lobby of Cape May Convention Hall where you may register during the weekend.  The Grand Hotel is located at 1045 Beach Avenue; Cape May Convention Hall is located at 714 Beach Avenue.

Hours for on-site registration:

Friday, October 26 at the Grand Hotel from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday, October 26 at Cape May Convention Hall from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, October 27 at the Grand Hotel from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 27 at Cape May Convention Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Sunday, October 28 at Cape May Convention Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
