WATERBIRD SOCIETY MEETING 2009, Cape May, NJ
Abstracts must be submitted electronically using the link below!!!
To submit an abstract - Click here
Submission deadline has been extended to September 25th.
If you do not receive confirmation of receipt of your abstract, or for any other submission problems
contact Chip Weseloh, Chair of the Scientific Program.
Presenters will be notified by early October as to acceptance of their abstract. Do not assume you have been placed on the program unless you have been notified.
Writing the Abstract
All abstracts must be less than 250 words, not including title, authors names and addresses. Your abstract will be printed without editing, and those exceeding the word limit will be truncated at 250 words. Abstracts should be informative, rather than suggestive. For example, try to use statements like "We conclude that nest boxes are not a viable conservation alternative for this species..." instead of "The conservation implications of this study will be discussed" and "We recommend that future studies focus on reproductive energetics" rather than "More work needs to be done...".
Poster Format
Boards for posters will measure 4’ x 8’ (122 cm x 244 cm) with two posters side-by-side on each board face. Allowing room for the edges of the boards, posters should be no larger than 46" tall x 46" wide (117 cm x 117 cm). Pins will be provided for mounting. Please set up your posters by 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 5th. Posters will remain up until Saturday morning.
Special Abstract Instructions for Students
The WS gives presentation awards in three categories: best student paper, best student poster and (where applicable) best undergraduate presentation. If you wish to be considered for a student paper or poster presentation award, please check the appropriate box on the abstract submission form. To be eligible for these awards, the presenter must be a student (currently enrolled or within 6 months of finishing an undergraduate or graduate degree) but may have non-student co-authors. For those presenting posters, the primary author and presenter must be a student (as with paper presentations, non-student co-authors are allowed).
