Cape May is America’s oldest seaside resort, and a national historic landmark city. It is also world renowned as a birding migration hotspot. Cape May is located at the southernmost tip of New Jersey on a 17-mile peninsula that is flanked by the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay. The peninsula’s geographic location effectively concentrates birds migrating along the Atlantic coast during fall passage. While Cape May is well known for impressive raptor migration events, the passage of migrating waterbirds is equally spectacular. Several field trip opportunities will be available during and after the meeting.
While Cape May is primarily a summer tourist destination, there are a variety of shopping and restaurant options available through December. Of course, being a seaside resort with a large fishing industry, seafood is a local specialty.
