Review List BREWER'S BLACKBIRD, LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE, BARROW'S
GOLDENEYE; and other reports of SANDHILL CRANE, EURASIAN WIGEON,
GOSHAWK, NORTHERN SHRIKE, LAPLAND LONGSPUR, ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER
and local reports.
A BREWER'S BLACKBIRD was reported in the farm field at the SANDHILL
CRANES on Burlington Path Road in Cream Ridge. Take 539 and
Burlington Path Road east past Meirs road. One report of the cranes
on Jan 15 had them in a cornfield on Emleys Hill Road near
intersection with Burlington Path.
The LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE continues as of Jan 17 on Bay Point Road,
Cumberland County, off 610 and 553. On Jan 17 the bird was in cedars
at the border of the salt marsh. Also in the area: 100 AMERICAN
PIPITS and a few HORNED LARKS.
BARROW'S GOLDENEYE (male) was at Sandy Hook Jan 16 in Horseshoe Cove
just south of campground with 50 COMMON GOLDENEYES. Park at L. The
EURASIAN WIGEON from the Long Branch count was still in Oceanport Jan
17. From intersection of Comanche and Pocono, go one block east on
Pocono to the water.
A N. GOSHAWK has been present on Rte. 615 in Sussex along with a N.
SHRIKE, near mile marker # 11 south of Peter's Valley Craft Center
and north of Walpack Env. Ed. Center.
Three LAPLAND LONGSPURS and 150 HORNED LARKS were next to the car Jan
15 on Oberle Road, Alpha.
The ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER at HMEC, Lyndhurst was seen Jan 18 with
WHITE-THROATS in the cedars on the Overlook Trail. Some 12 HORNED
LARKS were at Liberty State Park, Jersey City, along with 9 species
A GOLDEN EAGLE continues with BALD EAGLES along the Upper Delaware
along the Old Mine Road.
