Voice of New Jersey Audubon - 10/13/1994
This is the voice of NJ Audubon for Thursday, Oct. 13, 1994 at 11 AM with reports of FORK-TAILED FLYCATCHER, LECONTE'S SPARROW, CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, SANDHILL CRANE, AVOCET, RAVEN, seasonal sparrow reports and local reports of interest.

A flyby FORK-TAILED FLYCATCHER was reported at Overpeck Park Oct. 11, not found again; also there, eleven species of sparrows including LECONTE'S, CLAY-COLORED, LINCOLN'S, VESPER, and SHARP-TAILED. An immature SANDHILL CRANE was seen Oct. 12 at 10:30 and 3:30 at Tennent Road, Morganville, Monmouth Co.

An AVOCET was seen in the Kingsland Impoundment at the Hackensack Meadows in the back near the Turnpike, on Oct. 7. A RAVEN was seen on Conklin Road off Green Valley Road in West Milford Oct. 11, for the third time in 2 weeks.

At Thompson Park in Lincroft off Rt. 520 there were 2 VESPER SPARROWS Oct. 11, also there five BLACK VULTURES, LINCOLN'S SPARROW, and 3 BLUE GROSBEAKS. Nineteen PEREGRINES were seen off Chimney Rock this week. Four OSPREYS were at Middlesex Reservoir, Clark, Oct. 9, and 2 were at the Elizabethtown Water Co. in Union this week.
