Voice of New Jersey Audubon - 11/18/1992
This is the Voice of New Jersey Audubon for Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1992, at 1 pm, with reports of VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW, CAVE SWALLOW, ROSS'S GOOSE, SNOWY OWL, BREWER'S BLACKBIRD, SWAINSON'S HAWK, HARLEQUIN, COMMON EIDER, LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, EAGLES, BROWN PELICANS, and local reports.

The last report of the VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW in Cape May was Friday, Nov. 13, and the last report of the CAVE SWALLOW was Sunday, Nov. 15, both at Cape May Point State Park.

Two different ROSS'S GOOSE, one dark and one white, are at Brigantine (Forsythe) National Wildlife Refuge. The white bird was seen on Sunday, Nov. 15. Also at the refuge, 2 BALD EAGLES. SNOWY OWLS this week included one next to the MacDonald's in Belmar Nov. 12, and another at Barnegat Light Nov. 14. Also at Barnegat Light that day, one BROWN PELICAN, 2 HARLEQUINS, SNOW BUNTINGS, ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, and PALM WARBLER.

Thirty BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS were present in Salem on Nov. 15, at South Featherbed and Ft. Elfsborg Rds. A SWAINSON'S HAWK flew over Chatsworth Nov. 15. OLDSQUAW were at Floodgates, Gloucester Cty., Nov. 15. Adult BALD EAGLES were at the mouth of the Salem River and at Raccoon Creek on Nov. 15. A WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER was at Featherbed Lane, Sharptown, the same day.

A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and EURASIAN WIGEON were on Lake Takanassee, Monmouth Cty., also on Nov. 15. Another LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was at Brigantine NWR Nov. 14. Both GOLDEN EAGLES and BALD EAGLES were reported at Wanaque Reservoir on Nov. 15. A remarkable GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER was in Summit on the Passaic River Nov. 16. Overpeck Park this week had SHARP-TAILED SPARROW, MEADOWLARK, HORNED LARK, and COOPER'S HAWK. Lake Watchung had PIED-BILLED GREBE and BUFFLEHEAD Nov. 10. Twenty RING-NECKED DUCKS were on Anjin? Pond, in Washington, Warren Cty., during the week.
