This is the Voice of New Jersey Audubon for Wed Nov 26 with reports
of MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER, PACIFIC LOON, NORTHERN SHRIKE, COMMON
REDPOLL, EURASIAN WIGEON, REDHEAD, LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL,
ICELAND GULL, COMMON EIDER, HARLEQUIN, COMMON TERN, FORSTER'S TERN,
ROYAL TERN, and seasonal reports.
The MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER was still in the hedgerow at the Beanery
in Cape May Nov 23 in the morning. A PACIFIC LOON was seen at Sandy
Hook Nov 23 off the south end of Officer's Row in the bay; other
birds at Sandy Hook Nov 23 included COMMON REDPOLL,
2 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS,
REDHEAD, WESTERN SANDPIPER and PINE SISKIN.
A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen in Sussex County Nov 23 in the Peter's
Valley area. From 206, get to the Peter's Valley store on Rte 615.
Take the road to Thunder Mt., about .8 mile. Make a right at
the Van Campen's Inn sign and go one-tenth of a mile; park at the
road warning sign. Look in the fields.
At Middletown, a EURASIAN WIGEON continues in a pond on
Whippoorwill Valley Road off Chapel Hill Road. On the North Shore,
COMMON EIDER, ROYAL TERNS and FORSTER'S TERNS and many GANNETS were at
Manasquan Inlet Nov 22. A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was at Brighton
Av-West End Av in Long Branch in the usual spot on the beach, not
far from Takanassee.
Brigantine (Forsythe) NWR on Nov 22 had AMERICAN BITTERN, 400
TUNDRA SWANS, 3 BALD EAGLE, 3 WESTERN SANDPIPER and one LAPLAND
LONGSPUR. Barnegat Light Nov 22- 23 had two first year ICELAND
GULLS, one COMMON TERN four HARLEQUIN and one PALM WARBLER. Nine
MARBLED GODWITS continue at Brigantine Island. NORTHERN GOSHAWKS
were reported this week from Higbee, Avalon, Cherry Hill and
