A possible female BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was reported in the Delaware River in Warren County Feb 16-17. The bird is in a COMMON GOLDENEYE flock approximately 4 miles south of the Portland/Columbia Bridge, accessed along River Rd from the Pennsylvania side of the river. Also in that area this week were LONG-TAILED DUCK and 2 RED-NECKED GREBES.

Wallkill River NWR's Liberty Loop area had 5 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, BARN OWL, 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS, and 2 LAPLAND LONGSPURS Feb 17.

Ocean Terminal in Bayonne hosted 5 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS, 3 RED-NECKED GREBES, ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, and SNOWY OWL Feb 20. At nearby Liberty State Park 2 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS and RED-NECKED GREBE were noted the same day.

The NJ Meadowlands (DeKorte Environment Center) had RING-NECKED PHEASANT, ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, and SNOWY OWL this week.

A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was detected along Woodfern Rd in Hillsborough Twp Feb 15.

Union County sightings this week were of a drake EURASIAN WIGEON and RED-NECKED GREBE at Marciante-Jackson Millet Park in Elizabeth through Jan 18, a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER at Warinanco Park Jan 18, two RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS at Rahway River Park Feb 17, and 2 RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, PEREGRINE FALCON, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, and 5 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS at Lenape Park in Cranford Jan 17.

Middlesex County birds this week included a RED-NECKED GREBE and 2 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS at the Edison boat ramp Feb 15, an ICELAND GULL at Raritan Bayshore Waterfront Park in South Amboy Feb 16, RED-HEADED WOODPECKER at Oros Preserve in Woodbridge, and an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER at a Monroe Twp home Feb 18.

The PACIFIC LOON was seen this week through Feb 18 off Pullman Ave and just north of Seven Presidents Park in Long Branch. Other North Shore sightings included 29 REDHEADS and the drake EURASIAN WIGEON in Shark River Estuary Feb 16, RED-NECKED GREBES at Deal, Shark River Inlet, Shark River Estuary, and Manasquan Inlet; an adult ICELAND GULL at Shark River Estuary Feb 16, lone GLAUCOUS GULLS at Shark River Inlet Feb 14 and Seven Presidents Park Feb 16, single SNOWY OWLS at Manasquan Inlet, Sea Girt, and Avon, all Feb 16, and a LAPLAND LONGSPUR at the National Guard fields in Sea Girt Feb 19.

Sandy Hook sightings Feb 17 included 3 RED-NECKED GREBES, light-morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, first-cycle GLAUCOUS GULL, adult ICELAND GULL, and SNOWY OWL.

Burlington County reports included a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE and LAPLAND LONGSPUR in fields near the intersection of Simontown & Burr's Mills Roads Feb 15, 60 CANVASBACKS, RED-NECKED GREBE, RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, 2 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS, and 3 WINTER WRENS at Taylor's Refuge in Cinnaminson Feb 15, and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK at Franklin Parker Preserve in Chatsworth Feb 16.

Sixty-seven REDHEADS were tallied at the Barnegat Twp municipal docks Feb 17. Also in Ocean County were 2 ICELAND GULLS at Barnegat Inlet and a SNOWY OWL and SHORT-EARED OWL from "the bridge to nowhere" at the end of Stafford Ave in Manahawkin Feb 16.

Forsythe (Brigantine) NWR had 60 TUNDRA SWANS, REDHEAD, GOLDEN EAGLE and SNOWY OWL this week; a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was found at nearby Mott's Creek Rd Feb 16. Also in Atlantic County that day was a continuing hen KING EIDER off the 11th Ave jetty in Longport.

RED-NECKED GREBES were reported from several spots along the Gloucester County section of the Delaware River this week including Riverwinds and Big Timber Creek.

Salem County sightings this week were of two ROSS'S GEESE at the East Coast Sod Farm and another at Featherbed Lane. Also at Featherbed Lane this week were SNOWY OWL Feb 16, 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS through Feb 17, and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK Feb 19. Another Rough-legged Hawk was seen at Supawna Meadows NWR Feb 17. Sixty-five SNOW BUNTINGS and 4 LAPLAND LONGSPURS were found at the East Coast Sod Farm Feb 15. A LONG-TAILED DUCK was in Oldman's Creek at Pedricktown Feb 19.
