June 18, 2004 with reports of WILSON'S PLOVER, MISSISSIPPI KITE, ARCTIC
TERN, GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER, seasonal and local reports of interest,
A male WILSON'S PLOVER and an ARCTIC TERN were found at Stone Harbor
Point early this weekcall the CMBO Hotline for details.
Up to 2 MISSISSIPPI KITES were found at Bulls Island State Park this
weekend and seen again on Jun 16. The birds were perched in a large
sycamore in the playground north of the main campground and were dining
GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER was noted on Old Mine Rd in the Delaware Water
Gap NRA. GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER was also found at the Van Orden Road
power line cut in the Pequannock Watershed.
The southern section of Old Mine Rd in Worthington State Forest hosted
breeding CERULEAN WARBLERS, HOODED WARBLERS, and LOUISIANA
A VIRGINIA RAIL with 8 chicks was observed along Pleasant Plains Road
in the Great Swamp Jun 12. A SORA with young was also noted there this
Assunpink WMA breeders this week included YELLOW-THROATED VIREO,
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, BLUE GROSBEAK, and ORCHARD ORIOLE.
