Voice of New Jersey Audubon - 7/15/1992
This is the Voice of New Jersey Audubon for Wednesday, July 15, 1992 at 5:40 pm with reports of BROWN PELICAN, WILSON'S PHALAROPE, BALD EAGLE, and local reports of interest. Fourteen BROWN PELICANS were at Sandy Hook opposite the visitor's center on July 15. A remarkable 325 BROWN PELICANS were at Barnegat Bay; some birds are usually on the sandbars at Barnegat Inlet, others are seen off Island Beach State Park. WILSON'S PHALAROPE was at the Shark River Inlet on the Belmar side on July 14. An imm. BALD EAGLE was at Manasquan Reservoir on July 12. A LITTLE BLUE HERON was in Montville on River Rd., near the bridge from Beverwyck Rd. July 15. KENTUCKY WARBLERS are at Jockey Hollow between the parking lot and Wyck House, and also at Assunpink on Stone Tavern Rd. At Great Swamp, VIRGINIA RAILS can be seen on the Meyersville trail, halfway down from the Green Village end, in the little marsh on the left. Also in the Swamp, BOBOLINKS and MEADOWLARKS are on Woodland Rd., ORCHARD ORIOLES and BLUEBIRDS are on Long Hill Rd.
