Voice of New Jersey Audubon - 7/19/1995
This is the voice of NJ Audubon for Wednesday, July 19, 1995, at noon, with reports of RUFF, CURLEW SANDPIPER, WILSON'S PHALAROPE, LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, and local reports.

A BLACK RUFF was at Brigantine NWR in the middle of the west pool July 16; also at Brig this week, CURLEW SANDPIPER on July 13, WILSON'S PHALAROPE on July 15, and STILT SANDPIPER, SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, BLACK TERN, and other seasonal birds.

In the Hackensack Meadowlands, at the Environmental Center July 16-17, there were LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, STILT SANDPIPER, SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, GREATER YELLOWLEGS, LESSER YELLOWLEGS and SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS; and the young NORTHERN HARRIERS are fledged at Berry's Creek.

The all-white RED-TAILED HAWK continues to be reported on Rt. 78 in Hunterdon Co.; the bird has been there for several years.

Migrants reported moving this week were YELLOW WARBLER, N. ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW, TREE SWALLOW, E. KINGBIRD and BOBOLINK.
