Voice of New Jersey Audubon - 8/25/1993
This is the substitute voice of NJ Audubon for Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 5 PM with reports of UPLAND SANDPIPER, BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS, WHITE-FACED STORM PETREL, BRIDLED TERN, LITTLE BLUE HERON, STILT SANDPIPER, WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, WESTERN SANDPIPER, BAIRD'S SANDPIPER, BLACK TERN, AM. AVOCET, LARK SPARROW, GOLDEN PLOVER, YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER, and local reports of interest.

One UPLAND SANDPIPER was seen on Gordon Rd., near Allentown, on Aug. 24. Two BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS and one UPLAND SANDPIPER were at the Allentown Sod Farms on Aug. 23-24. On Aug. 20, 14 UPPIES were at Lumberton Sod Farms, and on Aug. 23, 7 UPPIES and 2 GOLDEN PLOVERS were at the Columbus Sod Farms. Also on Aug. 23, 14 species of warblers and YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER were at Palmyra; and on Aug. 25 MOURNING WARBLER and YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER were seen at the Taylor Refuge in Cinnaminson.

On Aug. 22 four MARBLED GODWITS were seen all day at Brigantine; AM. AVOCET was reported from the north dike. At Brig on Aug. 23, WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, WESTERN SANDPIPER, and one BAIRD'S SANDPIPER. BLACK TERN, AVOCET and LARK SPARROW were reported there on Aug. 24. On Aug. 23 an albino RED-TAILED HAWK was reported near Morganville. LITTLE BLUE HERONS were reported in Clark and in Winfield Park.

A pelagic trip out of Cape May on Aug. 22 saw a WHITE-FACED STORM PETREL about 60 miles out due east of Ocean City Maryland; also of note was an imm. BRIDLED TERN about 35 miles east of Delaware.
