This is the Voice of NJ Audubon for Wed Aug 5 with reports of WHITE IBIS, SEDGE WREN, BROWN PELICAN, WILSON'S PHALAROPE and seasonal shorebirds, BLACK TERN and other terns, and local reports.

A flock of 14 WHITE IBIS flew over Bivalve July 31 heading east toward Thompson's Beach, both on the Delaware Bayshore. [Not relocated despite searching. -Transcriber]

At Brigantine NWR Aug 2 and 3, a SEDGE WREN was singing in the field on the north dike just after the marsh on the left in front of the Barn Owl box at dusk. Also there: 1 UPLAND SANDPIPER in the NW corner on the field; MARBLED GODWIT, AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER, STILT SANDPIPERS, WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS and WESTERN SANDPIPERS, BALD EAGLE, CASPIAN & GULL-BILLED TERNS, 20 WHIMBREL and 2 VIRGINIA RAILS.

At Barnegat Inlet Aug 3, there were 41 BROWN PELICANS and a BLACK TERN.

At the Hackensack Meadowlands Env. Center in Lyndhurst Aug. 1, a WILSON'S PHALAROPE, GREATER YELLOWLEGS, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, two STILT SANDPIPERS, WESTERN SANDPIPERS, SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, FORSTER'S TERN and BLACK SKIMMER were present in the pool.
