Sandy Hook had a good passerine flight Sep 15 with 2 YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHERS, 3 PHILADELPHIA VIREOS, and 20 species of warbler including CAPE MAY WARBLER, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, CONNECTICUT WARBLER, WILSON?S WARBLER, and YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT. Also there that day were 2 BAIRD?S SANDPIPERS at the salt pond and a flyover adult MISSISSIPPI KITE.
Reed Sod Farm fields near Sharon Road hosted 2 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS and 2 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS this week.
A BAIRD?S SANDPIPER was found at Shark River Inlet Sep 10.
Spruce Run Reservoir hosted 2 BAIRD?S SANDPIPERS and 3 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS Sep 15.
Wildcat Ridge tallied 2,639 BROAD-WINGED HAWKS Sep 15; Raccoon Ridge logged 1,091 Broad-wings the same day, and Chimney Rock totaled 1,817 Broad-winged Hawks Sep 14.
Two PHILADELPHIA VIREOS were found at Glenhurst Meadows Sep 14.
The RED-NECKED GREBE continued this week at Ocean Terminal in Bayonne. A PHILADELPHIA VIREO was noted at Liberty State Park Sep 15.
The AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN continues at DeKorte Environment Center through Sep 15.
Two AMERICAN AVOCETS were found at the Barnegat Impoundments along Bayshore Drive Sep 14.
Forsythe (Brigantine) NWR had 3 MARBLED GODWITS and a DICKCISSEL Sep 13.
