Voice of New Jersey Audubon - 9/7/1993
This is the voice of NJ Audubon for Tuesday, Sept. 7 1993 at 6 PM with reports of BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER, BLACK TERN, HUDSONIAN GODWIT, BAIRD'S SANDPIPER, BROWN PELICAN, DICKCISSEL, PHILADELPHIA VIREO, WILSON'S PHALAROPE, UPLAND SANDPIPER, and local reports.

BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS were at Spruce Run Sept. 5, along with 14 other shorebird species. BUFF-BREASTS were also at Brigantine (Forsythe) NWR Sept. 5 along with WILSON'S PHALAROPE, and BAIRD'S SANDPIPER and HUDSONIAN GODWIT were there Sept. 1. BUFF-BREASTS were also at the Allentown (Reed's) Sod Farm on Rt. 526 Sept. 1 and on the Columbus Sod Farm the same day (on Rt. 206 in Columbus) with UPLAND SANDPIPERS.

HUDSONIAN GODWIT and BLACK TERN were in Cape May Sept. 2 and BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS were in the South Cape May Meadows Sept. 1, 2, and 3.

At Sandy Hook Sept. 6 a MOURNING WARBLER was at Brookdale Barn, and a BROWN PELICAN was at Spermaceti Cove opposite the visitor's center. On Sept. 6 at Spruce Run Reservoir, a MERLIN was at the outlet of Spruce Run. Liberty State Park in Jersey City on Sept. 5 had OSPREY, SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, GNATCATCHER, and various warbler species.

At Helmetta Pond in Middlesex Co., a GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER was seen on Sept. 5 north of the parking lot. Ten species of warblers were at Brigantine (Forsythe) refuge on Sept 5 including CONNECTICUT WARBLER, WILSON'S WARBLER, and CHAT, along with 4 species of vireo. PHILADELPHIA VIREO was at Higbee Beach in Cape May Sept. 2 and 3 as well as DICKCISSEL.
