WEEKDAY MORNING FIELD
TRIPS IN ESSEX COUNTY
Led by Dave Hall
This is a wonderful time of year to view fall
migrants, and Dave has once again planned many exciting birding
field trips. Many of these trips are to Essex County parks, the
oldest county park system in the United States. Dave will set an
easy pace, and most of the trails are level and wide, though a
few have steep trail sections and are a little muddy. Call
908.766.5787 to register.
Cost: $6 members, $8 nonmembers.
BECKER TRACT
Thursday, September 11
8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

migrating passerines.

Thursday, September 25
9:00 a.m. to noon

late, join us by climbing the stairway up to the hawk watch.

in full swing.

County park and also explore a nearby reserve in Essex Fells.

few waterfowl.

Meet at the parking lot of King’s Grocery in West Caldwell, near

explore insect signs, watch a few live insects along the trail,
and sample some pond water for aquatic stages.

Many thanks to Dave Hall for all of the nature
walks he led at Essex County Environmental Center’s 2008 Earth
