Exit Belleplain Forest Office parking lot (turn Left out of the parking lot) and turn Left onto CR 550. Proceed approximately 2 miles
to the blinking light at the intersection with CR 605. Turn Left (toward Eldora) and continue on
CR 550 for 0.5 miles where CR 550 bears off to the Right. Do not follow CR 550; instead continue straight onto SPUR CR 550 West for 2.3 miles
to Route 347. Turn Right onto Route 347 North. Travel only 0.1 miles and turn Left (opposite the Maurice River Township sign) onto Hands Mill Road/SPUR CR 550 West. Travel for 1 mile and turn Left onto Paper Mill Road/SPUR CR 550 West. After approximately 0.4 miles, Pickle Factory Pond will be on your Left. Continue just beyond the Pond and the Dennis Township Welcome sign and turn Left into the small
parking area. Map
Open daily from dawn to dusk. Small parking area just past pond. Turf farm fields are private property, so be respectful of the owner’s property.

Canoe and kayak enthusiasts should not miss the Pickle Factory Pond. Paddlers will enjoy a wide variety of wildlife in this
serene setting. In winter, small numbers of diving ducks including Ring-necked Duck, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser, and Common Goldeneye frequent the pond. In summer, pickerel, perch and sunfish abound (a fishing license is required), along with an array of dragonflies and damselflies. Bald Eagle may be spotted year-round, either flying over the pond or perched on a dead snag nearby. Birders should scan the fields adjacent to the pond for migrating shorebirds, Glossy Ibis, herons and Black-bellied Plover
in spring and fall. Take precautions against
chiggers, especially in late summer and
early fall.
